Dear Friends,
Sri Shukla Yajur Veda Sabha functioning for the past 65 years
with over 1000 Life members is growing from strength to strength in
propagating values of life! Our Sabha has constructed an unique
shrine at Old Pallavaram. In this shrine, Lord Surya, Goddess
Gayatri and Yagnavalkya, our spiritual guru, with his spouses
Katyayani and Maitreyi are installed. Lord Surya as the head of
Navagrahas is the bestower of Health. “Arogyam
Bhaskaradicchet”. Pooja and Homams are performed regularly.
Special mention is to be made of Gayatri Homam performed every month
with more than 38 lakhs Averties having been completed. Another
important program is the performance of Koti Archana for our
preceptor Sri Yagnavalkya of which 53 lakhs of Archanas have been
completed so far. People who throng to the Sabha have experienced the
solemnity of the Shrine and have reported positive results in their
family concerning Education, Business, and Health.
The principal objective of our Sabha is to spread the message of Sri
Yagnavalkya and bring out the essential principles of life as
enunciated in Sri Shukla Yajur Veda, brought to the world by our Guru
as a result of a number of arduous tapas and after undertaking the
onerous task of traveling with the speed of Sri Surya Baghavan.
Sri Yogeeswara Yagnavalkya has a pre-eminent place in the history of
Vedas. He is the author of Brhadaranya Upanisad. This Upanisad is the
authority for learning Atma Vidhya and is the source of Advaita,
Visishtadvaita and Dvaita and has the unique distinction of being
commented and commended by Adi Sankara, Ramanuja and Madhwa. The
powerful discussions and discourses of Yagnavalkya with Janaka,
Maitreyi and Gargi are well known as the beacon light on Atma Vidya.
We, the Shukla Yajur Vedis, pay homage to our eminent Guru every year
without fail. This year we propose to bring out an “Andu Malar”
(Annual Issue), which will be rich with a number of valuable articles
useful for young and old as well as women. Important information
about Sri Shukla Yajur Veda and the various works of Sri Yogeeswara
Yagnavalkya and the precepts and prospects of our Sabha will find a
place. This will be released soon in a function and will reach a
minimum of 50000 readers.
We request each and every one to contribute liberally to bring out
the “Andu Malar” either by liberal donation or by issuing
advertisement as per the order form.
We request you to help the noble cause by participating in this
endeavour. All contributions by way of local cheques or D.D payable
at Chennai favouring Sri Yagnavalkya Sabha may reach the under signed
or treasurer or office bearers of the Sabha as early as possible
preferably before 20th October 2007.
